"Ride or Die Chick"

I don't know how many of you know what this term means, so in case you don't, I'll elaborate. LOL

In today's society, the younger generation have what's called the Urban Dictionary. In this, you'll find the meaning of EVERY slang term that is being used or has been used by today's young people. For those of you who don't like cursing and hearing about sexual stuff, I advise you to NOT go there or even Google it. But for those of us who have a stronger constitution, it's okay to go and find out what the newest words are. Some are hilarious. I even used it in my research for my last two books. LOL. True story, there's only so many words for a particular activity or body part, and this site came in pretty handy.

Anyway, the Urban Dictionary defines a "ride or die chick" like this: "A chick that ain't afraid to be down with her man, she'll do anything her man needs her to do." Another version said "even illegal activities".

I would like to think that I'm a ride or die chick for my friends, (not the illegal stuff). That I'll be there for them no matter the circumstance. In the past, I've been guilty of not being a really great friend, but I learned from it and moved on and now I give 110% in my friendships because of it. Always take a mistake and turn it around and do better and then some. I can guarantee you, if you are my friend, I'll have your back and be good to you.

If you have a ride or die in your life, treasure her. She will be there no matter what. It may be your spouse, your best friend, your sister, or your signicficant other or domestic partner. Whoever she is, take care of her. Ride or die chicks are hard to come by. I can say that my sweet sister is my ride or die chick. That girl has went to the mat for me, literally. LOL. She beat the daylights out of someone over me once, so that pretty much qualifies her as my ride or die chick.

Can any of you guess the most famous ride or die chick?

This woman is the whole reason the saying came into being. Her name was Bonnie. And she was half of the most famous criminal team in the world, Bonnie and Clyde. She was Clyde's "ride or die chick". She was there for him when no one else was. Clyde could count on Bonnie to "ride or die" for him.

That's what Mary is to John in the Ultimate Betrayal series. She is his ride or die chick. She keeps his secrets and goes to the mat for him. She puts up with his love for another woman and takes him back. She lies for him and with him, even at the devastation of his ministry. Now that's a ride or die chick!! Old John is lucky that he's got somebody like Mary standing behind him and his evil ways. Not a whole lot of women have that kind of loyalty, especially to a man that left her for someone else and humilitated her in public. She's like Bonnie. She'll take his secrets to her grave. I love writing Mary and John and their twisted relationship. This new book is going to be a great read!! It will follow their WHOLE entire warped lives from beginning to end.

So be someone's ride or die chick. Figure out who yours is and buy her something special. She's worth every penny.

Notice that there's nothing about a "ride or die dude"?

You know why?

They don't exist. Find me one man that will stick by a woman like Bonnie did Clyde or Mary did John. I'll be surprised if any of you can. Men don't stand by women the way women stand by them. It's not in their nature. Men aren't made up of what we are. They are runners and leavers. They will leave you every time it gets tough.

Take care of your girlfriends, ladies. You might turn around one day and see they are the only ones who are still there.

If any of you need a ride or die chick, BE a ride or die chick!

Remember to work hard and Dream Big!!

Much love,

Christy
