The Piper!

A quick blog this morning to share something I wrote a little over a month ago, but hadn't shared it here yet. Some things were on my mind that night and it all came out on the keyboard.

I thought about how we are lured into wrong-doing by forces that are seemingly beyond our control sometimes. How something so beautiful or so tempting comes to us and almost puts us in a trance, causing us to forget everything for which we've always stood. I'm not talking about physical temptations alone, but also about love of money, drugs, alcohol, etc. Anything that can draw you away from what is right and they way you are supposed to be living. Sometimes when I blog or post on Facebook about things, people's minds go directly to one thing, in particular. But it's not always the case. There are many things in this life that can turn your head and cause you to falter and get off the right path.

So I thought about how we do what we want, we indulge in the thing that brings us pleasure, mental and physical satisfaction, giving no thought to the outcome or the end result. Giving no thought to the price we will eventually have to pay when it's all said and done.

I'll say this and then I'll share the writing with you.

When we go to a restaurant, especially a really nice one, we all know there is going to be a price at the end. We look over the menu and see the different things to order and we decide what we want. If we order the caviar, we know there is a great price to be paid, maybe one that you won't want to pay. But you want that caviar, you want to taste it, knowing what it will cost in the end, yet you don't think of the price, only of the taste. You enjoy the meal and savor every morsel until you are finished. Then, after you've dined on what you wanted, the bill comes and you are expected to pay. The price is high and you dread parting with that for which you worked hard. But you must. The waiter stands there waiting for it, waiting for you to pay what's expected.

It's the same in life. We make choices on what we want, then we pay for them. I don't know why this has all been on my mind and I don't know if it helps anyone. I do know that whatever I feel, I write. But here is my writing on the subject that night. I hope you enjoy it.

THE PIPER

"If there's one thing that's true,

In this world in which we live

It's that everybody pays the piper,

No matter how much you have to give.

Whether you have a little,

Or whether you have a lot,

It doesn't matter to him,

He'll take whatever you've got.

Once you commit the act,

Or once you commit the sin,

He doesn't care whether you like it,

To him you're ALL in!!

He'll come for what is owed him,

He'll take what he can get.

But you're gonna pay the piper,

It's as true as a safe bet.

Nobody gets off scot-free,

Everybody has to pay.

My only concern for you,

Is that terrible, dreadful day.

You've done the things you wanted,

You satisfied your lusts,

Now you'll do the one thing,

That you know you must.

You'll give him all you have,

You'll give him all he wants,

Then he'll move on to the next one,

To see who he can taunt."

Remember to work hard and Dream Big!!

Much love,

Christy
