In The Shades

I feel sorry for the people that only see the world in black and white. The ones who see things as one way or the other, this way or that.

The world is not black and white (not speaking of race at all).

The world is made up of shades. Everything is a shade of gray.

There are no absolutes.

Instead, there are endless possiblities and reasons for everything.

Those who see the world in black and white lack passion, they lack dreams, they lack imagination and the ability to really feel things.

Because in their world, everything has to be one way or the other, here or there, clear cut.

There's no in between for them. Everything must be understood.

And that's sad because in between is where it all happens.

Love, passion, joy, happiness, sadness, weakness, strength, heartbreak and euphoria are all found in the shades.

Black and white are simple and dull.

I don't ever want to be a person who lives in the black and white.

I want to be a dreamer, who knows there's more to life than absolutes. I want to be a visionary who knows that if she can see it, she can be it.

I want to live in the shades of color. I want to experience all that life has to offer. I want to go beyond what I see and reach for more. Much more.

That's where all emotion is found. The whole spectrum is found in the shades. Everything that you could ever want to feel, everything that you could ever want to experience is in the shades of gray.

Trust me. Black and white are boring, strive for the shades. Remember to work hard and Dream Big!!
