Sail Away!!

It's one of my favorite quotes by Mark Twain (Samuel Clemens). One of my favorite quotes of all time, actually.

Here is the quote in it's entirety.

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."

Wow!!! I love that!

It's so true. We all make our own bad choices, sometimes go down the wrong path in our lives. But it's part of growing and learning who we are. You gain knowledge and experience from those things. Lessons are learned during those times that will become of value later in life. You can use them to help others. So don't fret over the things you've done. You've done them. Move on.

There's nothing so freeing as letting go of a mistake, bad choice or wrong move and making plans to go forward. That is a feeling like no other!

When you do that, you are released to move beyond what you ever thought was possible in your life.

Don't let the bowlines of life hold you back.

Do what Mr. Twain said. Throw them off and sail away from safe harbor.

I know that in my life, I've taken some wrong turns, but I've learned not to allow them to hold me down. I've learned to not dwell on the disapointments. I've fnally taken hold of the rope and freed myself form the mooring that held me in place!

I'm free to sail now. I'm free to feel the wind as it catches the canvas of my boat and gently pushes me toward worlds unknown.

I'm going to include a video of the song to the children's movie Moana. This song is MY song!! I love the words. They describe my life, all of my life. Listen to the words and then take inventory of your own life. If you feel that you've been held back in life, it's time for you to grab the knot from the post and fling loose, allowing your boat to set sail. You won't regret going after what you want.

So like Mark Twain said, I'm going to Explore, Dream and Discover!!
