I want to take a moment and blog about the wonderful people in my life. I want to uplift each one of them. There are FAR too many of them to name or number, but each one knows the special place they hold in my heart. I love my friends. I cherish them, so I want to lift them up on my blog.
I've been traveling for a couple of days and one of my dearest friends accompanied me. She has joined the team at Dream Big Productions and so she had to attend an important meeting with me this afternoon.
Before we left for lunch with the potential client, she gave me this journal. I was thrilled!!! I asked her where in the world did she find a journal with my signature phrase on it!! It's just too cool.
Each time I looked at the book today, my eyes welled up. And after we were finished, I came to where I'm staying and I picked it up and cried.
You see, my friend simply thought she was giving me a cute book with my motto on it, but what she gave me was so much more.
The words on the journal represent what I stand for in life. They represent what's gotten me to the point I am today. Hard work. If you want anything out of life, and I mean anything, you HAVE to work hard to get it. Things aren't just going to fall into your lap, not in my life anyway. And I wouldn't want them to. Hard work causes you to appreciate things more. How many of you have ever planted a garden? I know I did every year when I lived in VA. And guess who had to tend to that garden? Yours truly. I worked it every day. I kept it watered, and kept the weeds out, made sure the plants were staked well so there was no drooping to the ground. When it was harvest time, it seemed as though my cucumbers and peppers tasted sooo much better than those I would have gotten at a store. Why? Because I knew the work I put into them day in and day out. It was sweeter and better in the end.
Life is the same way. Whatever work you put into something, the sweeter the harvest will be. So work hard.
The next one is Dream Big!! What can I say about that? You already know all about that one and how it came to be and who planted those words in my heart and mind. No need to rehash it all.
Life is also about dreaming BIG!! There's a saying: if your dreams don't scare you, they're not big enough. I've found that to be so true. I used to have little goals when it came to things, but now I have BIG dreams!!
Joyce Meyer has a saying: "I'd rather ask God for a whole lot and get a little of it, than ask Him for nothing and get all of it". Ha Ha.
Makes perfect sense to me!!
My son also quotes William Stone by saying: "Aim for the moon, if you miss, you may hit a star". I love that one as well. If you aim high enough and miss, you will at least land somewhere among your goals.
Those two quotes are so on point!
But back to my journal. When she gave it to me, she smiled and I took it and thanked her. As I stated above, she just saw it and thought of me. Little did she know that it came at EXACTLY the right time. It solidified a lot of things that have been on my mind lately. She doesn't know this, of course, because I said nothing, but she really did give me a huge blessing in the form of a little book.
Do good for someone today. It might end up being what they at exactly the right time. If you see something, pick it up for someone, it may be God's way of giving them the word they need at the time they need it.
On another note, today's meeting went well. I think we got the option for the book series, just have to do some legal paperwork which the lawyers will handle, but I think it's a go!!! Excited is an understatement. Thank you all for your prayers.
Well, it's good evening for me. Gonna grab a bite to eat and sit outside before I take off for home tomorrow. It's been a whirlwind ride these last few days. I've loved every minute of it. My life is blessed for sure. God has brought me so far and I'm so thankful to Him. I owe Him everything.
Remember to work hard and Dream Big!!
Much love,
Christy
