He Knows Who You Are!!

I once knew a man, a very arrogant man, whose favorite saying was, "do you know who I am?"

Let me start by saying that he was no one in particular. What I mean by that is, he had no standing in the community, he was not a professional in any capacity whatsoever as far as what some consider to be a "big" job. He was not in any form of public service, such as mayor, governor or that kind of stuff.

But in his OWN mind, he was something.

He would parade around our home like he owned the world. He would talk himself up so much that when he was finished speaking with others, they walked away wondering if they'd just been in the company of an aristocrat.

There was even a time when his child was pulled over for speeding before the kid even had his driver's license. When the officer walked up to the window, the boy said, "do you know who I am?" The policeman replied no, and then the child said, "well, do you know who my father is?"

The boy told the policeman and although he knew him not to have any standing of any sort in town, the cop had always been told that the man must have been a man of power and he was so convinced that he let the underage driver go at that moment with a warning.

Let me tell you, that man was hard to live with because of who he thought he was. LOL But he was a man that knew how to get things done. He could get others to do for him what he couldn't do for himself. He could seemingly move mountains when someone asked him to. He not only used his "power" to get what he wanted or needed, he used it for other people as well. If he or someone he knew needed something, he would walk into a room like he was king and almost demand that it be done. And most of the time, it was.

So, kudos for that.

But overall, his arrogant attitude made him a very difficult person to live with. Others though, thought he was the greatest thing since sliced bread.

I got to thinking this past week about how when we come under spiritual attack we need to be the same way. When the enemy brings things our way that he would try to take us down with, we need to stand up and ask him "do you know who I am?"

When he sends a demonic attack from the pits of hell to come against our minds or our ministries, we need to rise up and ask him, "do you know who I am?" When you do that and you've got his attention, you tell him exactly who you are in Christ. You tell him that you've been given authority in the name of Jesus to cast him out of your mind, your life, your finances, your marriage, your relationships, your home or whatever else he is trying to destroy.

Like the man I knew, who had no real authority because he really wasn't anything in himself, we are the same way. We have zero authority in and of ourselves. We hold no power whatsoever. BUT the name of Jesus holds ALL power.

The Bible tells us in many places that in HIS name we are given power to cast out demons, to tread on serpents, power over the enemy, We have the power through faith in our Savior to move mountains and lay hands on the sick and see them recover. But what we lack sometimes is the actual doing of those things.

When Jesus told his disciples that He would go away, He also told them that He would send a Comforter. That Comforter is His Spirit. He didn't leave us empty-handed and unable to defend ourselves. He sent His Spirit and allowed us to use HIs name to fight the attacks from the enemy.

So, instead of being like the man I once knew, who asked "do you know who I am?" and meant it in and of himself. Go to the enemy and say, "do you know who my Father is?" Be like the man's son that was pulled over. When you feel the enemy oppressing your mind or trying to weasel in your life some way, use the authority in the name of Jesus to bind those attacks. Use the power given to you by our Father in the name of His Son and cast those spirits into the abyss of Hell. You already have the power, it's up to you to use it.

Don't allow Satan to get a foot in the door in your life in any way whatsoever. Use the authority given to you by the One who died that we may have it.

Let's say your house was constantly being broken into and you had no way to protect yourself or fight against the thief. And I told you that I had a weapon you could use when he tried to come in again, I'm sure you'd be all for it. And let's say I give you the weapon but when the thief comes back again, instead of using it, you let it lay there and do nothing, then who is to blame for that? Me? Hardly, I gave you the weapon with which to protect yourself, you just had to take it and use it.

It's the same with God, He gave us the weapon with which to fight the attacker, the name of Jesus, and when the thief comes to kill, steal and destroy, it's up to us to take up that weapon and use it against him. If we don't, is God to blame? Hardly, because He equipped us with the necessary things we needed to protect ourselves and our families.

I'm a huge believer in using the power that is in the name of Jesus to bind spirits that come to attack me. I know who I am in Christ and what He did for me on the cross. And I know that when I'm being attacked what weapon to grab and use against the one who has come to kill and destroy.

For many years, I didn't understand all that the old preacher said about this. I would hear him speak of it, but never really got it, because I had never had a true encounter with God. I remember my mother figure would always say, "you've never given God your all". I, for the life of me, did not know what she meant by that. I couldn't understand what more there was than just going to church. Until July of this year, when God came in and took hold of my whole life and completely turned me upside down. I gave Him "my all". I would venture to say that she would finally be happy if she only knew. For many years, she tried to tell me to give God my whole heart but I just couldn't get it. But now, I get it.

So today, instead of allowing things to come your way and bring devastation to your world and mind, rise up and say, "do you know who I am?" And follow that with, "do you know who my Father is?" Those two statements alone will get the enemies attention. But after you do that, be ready to do battle in the spiritual realm because he is not joking, he comes to kill, steal and destroy. But Jesus came that we can have life.

When you go to battle, go equipped with the name of Jesus, the blood of Jesus and the Word of God, because it takes it all to overcome what Satan brings. But you can do it through Christ!! You can do ALL things through Christ.

And remember one very important thing in life. It is NOT about you! It's all about Jesus and what HE did for us on the cross. He willingly laid down His life, He willingly allowed them to drive nails into His flesh and He willingly hung suspended between Heaven and Earth until He died for us. So always keep that in mind. He loved us more than anyone else ever can or will.

One last thing, as I named the title of this blog, "He Knows Who You Are", you just have to remember and use it.

I hope I've said something today to help you guys. If you need prayer, message me or email me and I will intercede on your behalf. I will stand with you in prayer for your need.

Much love,

Christy
