Goal: The object of a person's ambition or effort, an aim or desired result.

There's a hashtag that is very popular right now that reads

These are usually used by youngsters or a group of friends who are trying to do things such as get the latest eyeshadow palette at Ulta. LOL. Seriously, that is a "goal" of some of our youth. When I was a young girl, one of my goals was to get the latest copy of the teen magazines. LOL

Anyway, we all have goals in life. The things we work toward each day to make our lives better and happier.

Jobs, promotions, weight loss, etc. All of those things are good goals to have. We all want better than we have, we all want to be acknowledged at our jobs and we all want to drop that stubborn last five pounds.

What is the goal of every Christian? Or shall I say what "should" be the goal of every Christian?

When I was thinking of this tonight, my answer was a no-brainer: Heaven!!

My ultimate goal is to make Heaven my home. It is the object of my ambition, my effort and it is my desired result after I pass from this world to the next.

The Bible tells us in Matthew 6:33 to "seek first the kingdom of God". That is my goal, to seek the kingdom of God and make my home there.

I read an article that said the main goal of every Christian should be to become Christ-like. That's true because to love God and serve Him goes hand in hand with seeking His kingdom. And loving Him more than anything goes hand in hand with being more Christ-like. You can't love Him with all of your heart and NOT become like Him. You can't seek Him and His kingdom and not become Christ-like, it all goes together as one.

As I was writing this blog I stopped to pray and as I did, I remembered what I always ask God for, to be used by Him as a channel for Him to take His Word to the lost and broken and to bring them to Him. It's also one of my goals to be a witness of what Jesus can do for those who hurt and are in need of peace.

No matter what goals you have in this life, whether they be to have more money in life, better jobs, nicer homes, or whatever, just remember that your most important goal is to one day make it into the kingdom of God. Don't forget that. It's the only thing worth striving for.

Much love,

Christy
